Explaining what learned models predict: In which cases can we trust machine learning models and when is caution required?
In many cases, it is difficult to explain how machine learning models predict. Transparency becomes a big issue when it comes to applying models in several real-life areas. Here, we discuss how we can explain a model’s predictions and how people’s trust in the model depends on its explainability. We also try to understand where certain caution is required. AI-based products and services are increasingly prevalent for decision making in a wide range of domains. Machine learning models predict decisions based on patterns from data. When the complexity and amount of data grows, it becomes harder to explain those predictions. Without proper explainability of the result, these models may lose trust and credibility, especially when using it in some high-stakes decision-making. In such cases, it is also important to be cautious. Cyber attacks to access confidential data or the unpredictable nature of models may result in unexpected outcomes.
Can Computers Think?
The question that drives all artificial intelligence has been discussed, debated, and disputed for an eon. This article will discuss some famous experiments regarding computer intelligence. It will differentiate between human intelligence and artificial intelligence. It will also provide some explanation regarding what consciousness is and if it is attainable by machines. The intangible idea regarding whether a computer or a machine can think has always perplexed the greatest scientific minds\[4\]. Yet, we don’t have any clear answer. Deep learning neural networks have already exceeded human performance in terms of object recognition and pattern matching\[12\]. But intelligence is not all about pattern recognition. It is more about understanding and modeling the world around us, problem-solving, creating new understanding as we learn more about the world\[11\]. In this article, we’ll briefly explore the idea of whether computers have the ability to think and if they can think like a human.

I recently needed a PDF version of the Computer Science Department of the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology curriculum. After ten years, it felt quite a difficult task to find these documents. একদা এক অতীব ধুরন্ধর ব্যাবসায়ী আবিস্কার করিলেন তার পাশের বাড়িতে আগুন জ্বলিতেছে। তিনি যেহেতু অতীব চালাক, সব কিছুতেই নিজের সুবিধা আদায় করিয়া লইতে সিদ্ধহস্ত। তিনি ভাবিলেন পাশের বাড়ির আগুনে আলু পুড়াইবেন। আলু পুড়াইয়া পরে বেশি দামে বিক্রি করিবেন।কিন্তু সমস্যা বাধিল যখন তিনি আবিস্কার করিলেন আগুনে পুড়াইবার জন্য তাহার কাছে কোনো লৌহ দন্ড নাই যাহা তিনি আলুতে ঢুকাইয়া আগুনে পুড়াইবেন। তাহার একমাত্র সম্বল তাহার পাটখড়ি খানি।তিনি কিছুক্ষন ভাবিলেন, অনেক ভাবিয়া চিন্তিয়া বাহির করিলেন, আগুনের যে তাপ তাহাতে আলুতে পাটখড়ি ঢুকাইয়া কিছু করিতে গেলে একমাত্র পাটখড়িখানা আগুনে পুড়িয়া ছাড়খাড় হইয়া যাইতে পারে।আগুন যেহেতু ধরিয়াছে সেহেতু কিছু লাভ তো তাকে করিতেই হইবে, কিন্তু তাই বলিয়া নিজের ...

১কূহুল মর্ত্যের বিশিষ্ট ঘটিসাধক দরবেশ। দেশ বিদেশে তাহার বিশাল সুনাম, শিষ্যদের কাছে ব্যাপক কদর। সবাই তাহাকে বিশাল জিনিয়াস ভাবিয়া থাকেন। তাহার কালেকশনে রঙ বেরঙ এর ঘটি। বছরের পর বছর সাধনা করিয়া তিনি এত এত ঘটি জমা করিয়াছেন। ঘটি শুধু জোগাড়ই করেন নাই, ঘটিতে সযত্নে তিনি তাহার নামও আকিয়া রাখেন। অনেক সময়ই সবার আগে। যাহাই হৌক। তো দরবেশ বাবার একটা বদ অভ্যাস ছিল। সেটা হইল সুযোগ পাইলেই শিষ্যদের ঘটি নিজের নামে মারিয়া দেয়া। তেমন কেউ অবশ্য বুঝিতে পারে না। বুঝিতে পারিলেও এতবড় দরবেশের বিরুদ্ধাচারণ করিবার সাহস করে না।তো একবার দরবেশ বাবা তার এক বিরাট নামকরা ঘটি রাখিয়া গিয়াছেন ইয়াহাবিবির উঠানে। যদিও ঘটিখানা ...
Criteria for cutting people off from my life
I have decided to cut off a few people from my life. I could have thought of many but eventually ended up with these three critical criteria. 1. Judgmental: You judge other people’s choices. You don’t know any details of other people’s life but always find a way to decide if he/she is a success or failure based on your terms. You don’t stop here; you let the other person know how you think of them with your judgmental remarks.
